Winter's Magic Lights
Intimate and abstract Landscape Photography

The Baltic Sea is famous for its magical light, especially in the winter. This special light makes the landscape look almost otherworldly, transforming everyday scenes into something truly beautiful and mesmerizing.
Artists have been captivated by this for centuries, and one of the most famous among them is Caspar David Friedrich. He was a big name in the German Romantic movement and often painted the Baltic coast. Friedrich's paintings, like "Monk by the Sea" and "Chalk Cliffs on Rügen," really capture the unique, dreamy light of the region. His work shows how this magical light can turn a simple seascape into a deep, reflective experience. Thanks to Friedrich, we can all appreciate the Baltic Sea's enchanting and timeless beauty.
Matthias spent countless summers here during his childhood and has explored the Darss peninsula as a photographer for many years. His deep connection to the region and its breathtaking light continues to inspire his work, fueling his passion for capturing the natural beauty of the Baltic Sea.

Lights, Shadows, and Glaciers
Intimate and abstract Black-and-White Photography

For the past 10 years, I’ve been exploring Switzerland, and what captivates me most is the mesmerizing dance of clouds and glaciers atop the mountain peaks. I have scouted many regions within Switzerland to find the most interesting places for my workshop groups. Mountain Spring in the Swiss Alps is a breathtaking spectacle of nature. As we hike towards the majestic glaciers, the abundance of wildflowers adds a layer of beauty that's both enchanting and distracting. Translating this vibrant scenery into monochrome allows us to focus on textures and contrasts, capturing the essence of the landscape in black and white.
Join me from 6th – 11th June 2025 for an immersive 6-day, 5-night workshop dedicated to black-and-white photography. In a small group of 4 participants, we'll explore the art of monochromatic imagery, capturing the intimate and abstract beauty of the Swiss Alps. Together, we'll focus on the intricate play of light and shadow against the stark backdrop of glaciers, framed by the textures and contrasts of spring.

SPRING IN THE SWISS ALPS

Eugene and Matthias have teamed up to offer a 6 night / 7 day landscape photography workshop in Switzerland. During spring the mountains are still covered with snow, while at lower elevations the valleys spring to life with the arrival alpine flowers. On this workshop you will get an opportunity to delve into your photography with two leaders with differing styles, all while experiencing the onset of an alpine spring.

Join us for 7 night / 8 day landscape photography workshop in the beautiful Swiss Alps. This workshop will take you to two of Switzerlands most iconic landscapes - Zermatt with the towering Matterhorn and the stunning Engadin valley where for a brief period each Autumn the larch trees turn shades of gold and yellow. On this trip you will also experience stunning mountain lakes, gushing rivers and mountain glaciers. Eugene and Matthias have teamed up to offer this workshop where you will not only experience amazing scenery, but also learn from two experienced photographers with their own individual styles..
